Dance on the Shannon is an Irish Dance camp held in Mountshannon each July. It is led by Joni Muggivan, TCRG from New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, and Anne Burke, TCRG from Scariff, Ireland.
The camp is open to dancers of all ages and levels. This year, the camp has attracted dancers ages 6-37, beginners through champions, from America, France, and Ireland.
Dance on the Shannon is the first ever dance camp designed to bring American Irish dancers over to Ireland where they can practice while immersed in the Irish culture. Not only is the camp an opportunity for dance training, but also for cultural exposure through music, art, and excursions in southwestern Ireland.
The dancers work hard all week practicing their dancing and preparing for an end of camp performance.
